Josiah has quite a list of “When I’m olders” going these days.
What’s a “When I’m older”? You know, those things that kids say they’re going to do when they get older. In Josiah’s case, this might sound like, “When I’m older, I will ride a bike.” He usually says it with a very serious look on his face and a dramatic nod of the head.
Anyway, we thought it would be fun to start documenting some of these things. These are all things that he’s actually said.
When I’m older…
- ...I will ride a bike.
- ...I will climb a ladder.
- ...I will climb a tree.
- ...I will stand on the roof.
- ...I will stand in the street.
- ...I will drink coffee.
- ...I will drink tea.
- ...I will drink Dr. Pepper.
- ...I will drink Root Beer.

I remember being too small to pour my own milk; Mom always bought the big gallon-size containers, and at some point I must have said something like that and she began buying quart containers, and it was a big day when I could make my own saturday breakfast adult trust, and no intervention!
I think yours is a neat idea; kids have “natural” goals for themselves, that we so easily forget, as “big people.” I think it will be cool to look back and say “look at all you’ve accomplished!” Heck I need to be reminded even as an adult…
Pretty cool!
