Oh, boy!

Seriously. Oh, boy! It has once again been way too long since the last update. In fact, one of Josiah’s favorite things to say now (among many, many other things) is, in fact, “Oh, boy!” It is too funny.

That picture is one of the latest — from last Sunday. A lot has happened since the last post. Halloween came and went. Daddy had surgery. Grammy & Poppy were in town. Thanksgiving was fun. Now, we’re getting ready for Christmas. Wow.

A while back, Josiah even had his first run-in with a playground bully — nicknamed The Scratcher — at daycare:

Gruesome, isn’t it? I don’t think Josiah, tough boy that he is, was even phased.

When I came home from surgery, Josiah took it very hard. It was quite unexpected. Seeing Daddy all laid-up in bed just wasn’t what Josiah wanted to see. What happened to the fun daddy who used to roll around on the floor with me? But, after a while, he started to come around.

Daddy even got to catch a few Z’s while having some quiet time with Josiah…

Not only that, but Josiah got to spend a whole lot of time with Grammy, who he only gets to see about once a year. Unfortunately, this was the only picture I was able to take of the two of them:

I know, it’s not the most flattering picture — of either of them — but it sure is funny!

Just recently, we set up our Christmas tree and Josiah got to experience putting ornaments on it. He had a lot of fun and caught on pretty quickly that the ornaments were not toys and had to stay on the tree.

In fact, Josiah has turned out to be quite a helper. He helps put groceries away. He helps clean up around the house. He closes the dishwasher door whenever it’s opened — even if we’re trying to put dishes into it. Actually, he closes pretty much every door that he finds opened, from the refrigerator to the basement. He likes flushing the toilet. He picks up Daddy’s cane whenever it is dropped…

He is turning into such a big boy.
